Visas that don't require health insurance proof
Skip the paperwork: these remote-work visas don't require you to submit private health insurance during the application. (You should still travel insured.)
Most digital nomad visas ask you to prove you hold private health insurance that is valid in the country for your whole stay. It is one of the most common reasons applications are delayed: policies get rejected for having too low a coverage limit, for excluding the destination, or for not covering the full visa period. The programmes on this page are the ones where our database records health insurance as not being a mandatory document for the application itself.
"No insurance required" does not mean you will be covered by the local public health system. In most of these countries, remote workers on a temporary permit pay for treatment privately, and some programmes still expect you to register with a local health scheme after arrival or to buy cover when you renew. Rules also change: a country can add an insurance requirement with little notice, so always confirm with the official source linked on each country page before you apply.
In practice, almost every experienced nomad still travels insured. A good international or nomad-focused policy protects you against large hospital bills and medical evacuation, and having one ready makes it easy to switch to a different visa later if your plans change. Use this list to find programmes with a lighter paperwork burden, then open each country guide for the income requirement, duration, tax rules and the exact document checklist.
