Taiwan offers the Digital Nomad Visitor Visa (數位遊牧停留簽證) — launched January 2025 for non-resident remote workers and self-employed professionals. Income
Applicants aged 30+: minimum annual income of USD $40,000 in either of the last 2 years. Applicants aged 20–29: minimum annual income of USD $20,000. Additionally: bank balance of min USD $10,000 for last 6 months. ALTERNATIVE route: proof of having previously received a digital nomad visa from another country.

How to Apply for the Taiwan DNV
Processing time: Approximately 30 working days standard. If additional documents requested: 50–60 days. Applications reviewed by National Development Council (NDC) then returned to overseas mission.
- 1Confirm eligibility: citizen of visa-exempt country for Taiwan; aged 20+; meets income threshold for age group; min $10,000 bank balance OR prior digital nomad visa from another country.
- 2Gather required documents (in English or Chinese — certified translations required for other languages). 3a. FROM OUTSIDE TAIWAN: Submit at nearest Taiwan overseas mission. Mission forwards to NDC for eligibility review. After qualifying, return to mission for visa issuance. 3b. FROM WITHIN TAIWAN (visa-free entry): Submit to Bureau of Consular Affairs (BOCA) or MOFA regional office — at least 10 working days before current permitted stay expires.

Taxes for Digital Nomads in Taiwan
